The SEAPLASMA Story
he Early Days: FOCUS 21 International was founded in 1980 by 3 individuals who were former employees of Jhirmack. They were disciples of Jerri Redding , the founder of Jhirmack and a man who was considered to be an icon in the hair care industry. Their quest to find unique and natural ingredients led them to the sea in search of mucopolysaccharides and the Seaplasma line was born. Seaplasma offered products that contained NApca, an ingredient that actually attracts moisture from the air and binds it to skin and hair along with mucopolysaccharides which are found in connective tissue, the glue of life.
The Middle Days: Richard Ravid Inc. purchased Focus 21 along with the Seaplasma line of products in 1998 and manufactured and sold the products until around 2010 -2012. Information on exactly when production stopped is hard to find. The products went out of production for reasons that were personal and unrelated to product quality or customer demand. Since there was still a demand for the products after they were no longer available, some individuals tried to capitalize on the low supply and continued demand by selling their old Seaplasma products online through websites like ebay or amazon at outrageous prices. As an example, online prices for one bottle of Seaplasma All Purpose Skin and Hair Moisturizer spray were as high as $250! Some loyal customers erroneously blamed the owner/manufacturer for the outrageous prices but the owner had no control over the prices being charged by people who were re-selling old product online.
NOW: Jill Potter was a long-time devoted user of Seaplasma products. After reading hundreds of online comments from former users who, like herself, were distraught and could find nothing comparable to replace the Seaplasma products, she became determined to bring Seaplasma back to the market. She looks forward to offering Seaplasma to former loyal and devoted users and to introducing this line to a whole new generation of users!
